WE ARE CHANGING OUR CLUB in 2020
The Donors' Wine Club Drink Wine. Do Good.
To better reflect the spirit of the winery and how we have evolved over the last 3 years, we are changing our wine club to no longer be a subscription wine-based model to a much more participation based model. We have found that when our friends and members come together and spend time with each other at the winery, something truly special is created. The idea of forming a club where at least 3 times a year members come together and create a special blend or to enjoy a pairing meal with all of the Aspen Lane wines - has tremendous appeal to who we want to be as a winery - as a social enterprise. When people come together in the spirit of giving and caring that the winery naturally supports, great things happen. We hope you will join us.
How the new club will work:
During the months of January, May, and September the club will get together at the winery to participate in a unique experience. Opportunities will include:
- Creating a unique wine club blend
- Enjoying a specially prepared pairing dinner
- Creating the Aspen Lane Holiday Blend #1 to be released October 2020
Planned Events and Exclusive Take-away
Please note that if required we will hold multiple events, at least two dates for each of the opportunities below, which will be scheduled well in advance to meet the size and scheduling challenges of a participation based model.
January
Participate in a blind tasting “blending” event where we will sample and score several different blends in order to create a very limited Red Blend with exclusive first rights to club members. Members will enjoy an exclusive 1.5L Magnum of the blend labeled with a uniquely designed club label. For a modest fee between $150 and %200, during the summer of 2020, you will have the opportunity to upgrade the bottle to an etched, hand-painted version. As long as you are a member you can bring this Magnum to the club events and it will be refilled, free-of-charge with an available wine of your choice. Target Date for event: Third week of January
May
Come to the winery with your friends to enjoy a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. Our pairing dinners are incredible and our club pairing event will be off the charts. Enjoy a multi-course pairing with a sampling of Aspen Lane’s finest wines with each course. As your take-away you can pick from your two favorite wines of the evening and take home two 750ML bottles to enjoy later. Recipes will be provided and don’t be surprised if a special guest chef makes an appearance the night of the event! Target Date for event:
September
As fall arrives it will all be about getting ready for the holidays. As we are planning to release the Aspen Lane Holiday Blend #1 in October 2020, the club will come together to create the blend and will even have opportunities to take part in the bottling process. A limited number of cases will be made available at a discount to club members with special options for personalized labels appropriate for sharing your blend during the holiday season. The exclusive take-away is a Holiday Blend 1.5L Magnum only available to club members as well as a special 4-pack of 187ML taster bottles of Aspen Lane Wine coming out in the summer of 2020. What does it cost to join the Club?
Club dues will be automatically charged to the member on January 1st, May 1st, and September 1st as those are the months that the participation opportunities take place. You can join as an individual for $75 and for $125 as a couple. You will be charged those amounts in each of the three months listed above. If you join as a couple, both people are invited to attend the events however each couple will only receive 1 of the exclusive take-aways for each event. In the event that you are not able to be part of an event, you will still receive the take-aways, and any other opportunities that occur. Also you are more than welcome to send a guest in your place if you are not able to attend. We understand the challenges of this type of club and we will work with you to make this a unique and special experience – but also one that is fun and does not seem like a chore. We can all drink wine on the couch – but it is way more fun to do it together.

Also, as a special perk to the club, for any of the events you may invite your friends to participate in the club without joining. For a modest fee of $25 up to four people can attend any of the events with you as your guest. While they will not receive the exclusive take-away, they will have the opportunity to purchase the product if available.
Lastly, let’s mention shipping. One of the biggest issues for us with the last club was the sometimes – well, ok, a significant amount of the time, people were not able to make the pick-up parties and we held the wine at times for months. This go around we are charging upfront for shipping and if you attend the event, we will provide an immediate cash refund for the shipping costs. We are charging a modest $15 with each payment to cover shipping if you do not make the event. Shipping will occur directly after the event when available (Blends may take a week or two to be bottled) and when there is a choice of wine, if we are not aware of your preference, will ship the wine makers choice.
